What type of role play (RP) does Austritaria do?

Austritaria is a realistic* real time political role play region. We assume control of our nations' characters**, leaders and diplomats and do politics, cause shenanigans and resolve or start other issues.
*realistic meaning realistic sized nations with realistic sized militaries, is in the modern era et.
**a nation's characters covers all characters from someone's nation. We can also take role of other individuals such as terrorists or businessmen/women. They don't technically have to be part of your nation for you to take control, just your creation.
What is role play?
Role play is basically pretending. We role play our nation's histories and events.
Where should I start?
A good idea for any of the newer nations is to write some factbooks about your country. These can be found on your nations page. Just write about some general stuff, such as; Your nation's leader(s), religion(s), culture. And general information about what your nation is like. You don't have to do this but it can help for RP (Role playing) purposes. It can also be nice for yourself to really try and think about what you want your country to be like, as well as allowing everyone else to see how wonderfully beautiful and democratic, or barren and oppressive your nations are! We all look forward to seeing what our newcomers are like. Some good examples of factbooks are on pages such as Geniocratics or Elysium Bays'. starting off with simple stuff like trade is a good place to begin. Your first course of action should be to get your factbooks going and get the basis of your nation founded for RP purposes. Having a leader(s) and some diplomats is a good idea. Some background of your nation. Maybe some stuff about your military (It doesn't have to be detailed) (But if you want to be detailed there's nothing stopping you later on. Just take a look at mine, Genio's, Groznyj's, and a few others). After you're done that then you can get involved with calmer stuff, such as establishing trades, alliances, and grudges with other nations! After you've got the basics down, you can get to some of the cool stuff. Like the good looking piece of land next to you that someone might just be inconveniently occupying but would look really nice if it had your nations flag in it

Who's side should I join?

There is no 'side' to join... Kind of. While there are various organisations and alliances in the region there is no good side or dark side, that's a matter of opinion. One piece of advice that can be said is don't join the first person that approaches you. Consider their offer and history first, look at the others available and then make your choice.
These organisations and alliances can bring some benefits. Including safety in numbers, easier trade, unity. But it does bring disadvantages, such as responsibility to others, possibly following orders or even marching to battle for someone else's war. In the end it's entirely your choice. (West is best).

Can I take unclaimed land?

No. But, that is the only land you cannot take. You are allowed to take land owned by another player. However, a casus belli is needed (the casus belli does not have to be legitimate, like many casus bellis in the real world).

The website has not updated for my trade/diplomacy/RP/news, why?
​
I, Geniocratics, cannot keep up with everything all the time, even though I wish I could. If you have updated trade/diplomacy with someone then please inform me of the change via telegram and I will update that for you.

How do I pick somewhere on the map and how do I add cities?

To find the map, use the link on top of the Austritarian NationStates page or use the "maps" section on this website. Then simply decide where you want to live by picking one of the unnocupied spaces. You must then telegram Geniocratics where you want to be.
Do not state where you want to live on the regional message board or to anyone else, there is a chance I will not see it. Also, be patient, I'm not always available to update the map on a regular basis. On a similar note, I may forget to add add you to the map. If this is the case after a few days or so, just send me the telegram again and I should do it.
To add cities to your nation, you can either telegram me, Geniocratics, a description of the location of where your cities are. Alternatively, you can draw a map on MS Paint or something with all the cities on that and I can copy it, your choice!
